What happens when you hand the mic to senior artists across Europe and ask them to reflect on climate, art and life??
Our podcast series brings together the voices of senior artists across Europe, sharing reflections, creative practices, and life experiences in response to environmental change.
✧ Our Podcast Series: What’s it all about?
Produced as part of the Seniors Climate Action (SCA) project, the series highlights how older generations are contributing to the climate conversation through art, memory, and public engagement. This multilingual audio initiative features senior and retired artists from across Europe who share their thoughts, practices, and lived experiences at the intersection of climate justice, cultural memory, and creative expression.
It brings together senior, retired and still active artists from Greece, Slovakia, Italy, Spain and beyond, sharing their views on what it means to face environmental change with a lifetime of experience behind them and a deep well of creativity to draw from.
But don’t expect dry lectures or abstract debates. These are real conversations, intimate, grounded and full of lived wisdom. You’ll hear the artists talk about the emotional weight of environmental loss, creative ways to reimagine landscapes that have been damaged and how art becomes a bridge between generations, inviting younger people into dialogue rather than preaching from above.
✧ So why a podcast?
In a world where information flies at us faster than ever, we need formats that are simple, human and easy to share. Podcasts are all that, and more. Whether you’re on a walk or cooking dinner, you can tap into stories that inform, inspire and connect.
For seniors, this format is ideal; flexible, accessible and personal. It’s learning without pressure, storytelling without barriers.
✧ Why does it matter?
Often, climate action is framed as something for the young. This series flips that script. Here, older generations aren’t “included” in the climate fight; they are leading it.
Each episode blends conversation with storytelling and local context, offering an alternative; one that’s shaped by memory, community and creative resilience.
And the best part? Our podcast series is available for free, featuring episodes in all partners’ languages and accessible from anywhere.
