The Unexpected Artrepreneur
How can we integrate marginalised groups into educational settings, providing them with the necessary tools to feel empowered and engaged? This initiative leverages visual arts to foster inclusive and equal learning environments, targeting young people who are often overlooked. Thanks to a specialised curriculum for professionals working with youth having Down Syndrome (DS) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), an "Express Yourself" e-learning platform, and a carefully made digital toolkit, we facilitate artistic expression and social entrepreneurship among young people with mental health challenges and disabilities.

Bridging Gaps, Enriching Minds Through Art

Join us in transforming educational landscapes through art. Together we can empower young minds and create a more inclusive society, striving to paint a brighter future for all.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

Artful Empowerment: Fueling Creativity, Transforming Education!

‘Express Yourself’ E-learning Platform

The design, development and piloting of an easy-to-navigate interactive digital environment that will a) allow professionals supporting youth with mental disabilities to access helpful digitised training materials and sources, and b) offer young people with DS/ASD an online space to share ideas, connect with one another, and virtually display artwork.

Creation of a Curriculum for Professionals

The assembling and piloting of a comprehensive curriculum that covers how to best support young people with DS/ASD to become agents of social change through art and entrepreneurship. Its modules will strive to improve pedagogy and teach visual communication, self-reflection and self-expression, whilst promoting initiative among youth with mental disabilities.

Digital Toolkit Content Development

Upon collecting, evaluating and reviewing content, a Toolkit will be produced which will serve as an interactive guide designed for young people with ASD/DS to understand the basics of art and social entrepreneurship. It serves as a practical resource for self-expression and communication, aiming to raise awareness and inspire social change. The toolkit encourages equity, equality, and respect, providing educational opportunities and skills not commonly available to groups of young people with mental health disabilities
