‘NFTs for Good’

Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your talent while participating in a good cause? Look no further than our latest call for art - ‘NFTs for Good’, organized by DECENTR in collaboration with the global leader in crypto philanthropy, The Giving Block. This is an opportunity for digital artists (including traditional artists who can digitize their work), 2D and 3D Max artists, graphic designers, illustrators, and photographers who are interested in breaking into the exciting field of NFTs.

We are calling for artists to create a ‘base’ character design that forms the foundation of a 3,333 piece NFT collection designed around a specific theme. We don't want you to feel restricted by our idea for a theme; any character design (human, animal, or otherwise) with any theme of your choosing will be accepted. So get creative with your art and narratives!

No prior knowledge of NFTs is necessary but is beneficial. A percentage of sales of the NFT collection, sold via OpenSea, will go to our charity partner(s); more details to be announced.

The winner of this contest will receive a prize of £1,500 in cash for one winning ‘base’ character design (head and shoulders), with a further £2,500 paid to the winner to create 55 unique 'traits'. Traits are items such as sunglasses, jackets, hats, different coloured backgrounds, etc, that are created as separate PNGs for each trait. These can then be mixed and matched using generative NFT software to create 3,333 ‘unique’ variations. Don’t worry about the tech side of things too much, as we will guide the winner through this.

The winner will also receive a negotiable contract for a percentage of the total NFT sale (not less than 6%). All Participants who choose their own theme and submit images accordingly are guaranteed (at the Artist’s discretion) to be featured on our official Medium, and promoted to our social media channels (120K subs) and The Giving Block, as well as via our partner charity.

To participate in the ‘NFTs for Good’ contest, sign up, create your portfolio, and submit your work. We encourage you to give us a precise description of your artwork, including the title, medium, and dimensions. Rather than focusing on a single submission, our jury team is always looking to find out more about every participating artist, so make sure you upload more of your work to your portfolio. Only digital submissions are accepted (due to the nature of NFT collections) in JPEG or PNG format. ‘Digital submissions’ can include (but are not limited to) work from digital artists (including traditional artists who can digitize their work), graphic designers, illustrators and photographers.

We ask that you are thoughtful when selecting the artwork you submit, as we want to see the best of your work. Let your creativity shine through your submissions. By submitting your artwork to this contest, you grant us the right to use your artwork for promotional and marketing purposes only in relation to this contest. We do not claim any ownership or commercial rights over your artwork beyond the scope of this contest. We respect the value of your creative work and want to ensure that you maintain full control and ownership over it.

Our goal is to ensure a fair and transparent selection process that upholds the values of diversity and non-biased procedures. To achieve this, a diverse team of art professionals as well as field experts coming from 'NFTs for Good' will contribute to our mission, will review and evaluate each submission based on its artistic merit, originality, and relevance to the theme. Each artwork is evaluated on its own merit and the selection was made based on the artistic excellence, originality, and relevance to the theme. The jury team is committed to ensuring that every submission received equal consideration and that the selection process was fair and objective.

We understand the importance of giving a platform to emerging artists, which is why we aim to provide opportunities for artists at all stages of their career. Therefore, we are looking for submissions from both established and emerging artists. By bringing together a diverse range of voices, we believe that ‘NFTs for Good’ will showcase the richness and depth of contemporary art.
