This illustration shows what I cooked for this year’s Chinese New Year. This year I spent Chinese New Year with my flatmates and I made them a fusion of noodles, dumplings, spring rolls and negronis, even though not all were Chinese. As a superstitious person from Hong Kong, I made sure everything on the menu symbolised good luck. Dumplings and spring rolls symbolised wealth as they look like gold bars, noodles symbolised good health and longevity as they have a long shape, and the red in the negronis symbolised good luck.
