Participants are invited to propose project ideas that align with one of three thought-provoking themes:
✧ Echo of the Forgotten – Investigating forgetting as an active process and its manifestation in collective memory, sound, and imagery.
✧ The Archive of Pain – Exploring trauma’s imprint on individual and collective consciousness and its transformative potential.
✧ The Memory of Water – A poetic reflection on the fluidity of memory and its ties to nature, time, and cultural heritage.
The artists will be selected according to their submissions' relevance to the theme and will be contacted within 1 week from the application deadline.
Meet the Curatorial Team
✧ Tsolak Mlke-Galstyan – Choreographer, director, and arts manager shaping Armenia’s contemporary dance scene. As the co-founder of Mihr Theatre, he merges choreography with social and educational projects, curating international festivals and fostering cultural exchange.
✧ Ilya Moshchitsky – Director and founder of the independent theatre company Temporary Association Chronotope. His performances have been staged at major international festivals. Since relocating to Yerevan in 2022, he has been developing Chronotope as a platform for experimental theatre.
✧ Sergei Komarov & Lidiia Griaznova – Curators of CYLAND’s sound art program. Komarov, an engineer and Max/MSP programmer, works with interactive installations and electronic soundscapes. Griaznova, a curator and editor, focuses on new media and text-based artistic projects, bridging technology and contemporary art.
✧ Dima Ustinov – Composer and electronic musician exploring ambient, neoclassical, and minimalism. With over 20 years of experience, he integrates music with meditative practices and sound healing. His augmented piano performances blend acoustic instruments with complex FX processing.
✧ Anton Shchegolev – Musician, sound artist, and educator. Inspired by Scandinavian folk high schools, he incorporates experimental teaching methods into his work, developing unique approaches to sound and music education.
✧ Shoghakat Mlke-Galstyan – Arts manager and choreographer specializing in interdisciplinary projects. As Creative Director of Mihr Theatre, she plays a key role in Armenia’s contemporary dance scene, focusing on cultural policy and education.
✧ Andriesh Gandrabur – Composer, sound designer, and educator leading the Sound Art and Sound Design program at HSE’s School of Design. He has worked in theatre, film, and experimental music, shaping the intersection of sound, technology, and performance.
✧ Andronik Khachiian – Artist, curator, and arts manager working at the intersection of visual arts, performance, and music. With a background in design, filmmaking, and curatorial practice, he fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and immersive artistic experiences.
