Summer Art Residency in Riga, Latvia

The Florence Contemporary Art Gallery is calling for artists based in Riga or Latvia to participate in an International Residency Program for artists, curators, writers, and producers to foster collaboration and artistic exchange. The residency supports research, dialogue, and experimentation in a dynamic cultural environment. Artists have to be based in Riga or Latvia.

The Art Residency, spanning July 17-31st, 2025 is designed to facilitate meaningful artistic exchanges and collaborations between local and international practitioners. Successful residents will have the opportunity to engage with the local art scene, meet fellow creatives, and participate in public events. While project completion is not required, participants are encouraged to contribute to at least one public program (e.g., talk, screening, or discussion) during their stay. The residency is part of a long-term initiative to establish a permanent international artist residency and studio space in the city.

To submit your application for the Summer Art Residency, follow these simple steps:

✧ Create Your Artit Portfolio – Upload your artworks, descriptions, a short bio, and any relevant links (social media, website, etc.).

This will serve as your application portfolio.

✧ Submit Your Work – Once your profile is complete, your submission will be reviewed and forwarded to the Florence Contemporary Art Gallery Team. If we need more information, our team will contact you to ensure your application is complete. 

Participants selection will be based on:

✧ A compelling and well-articulated application.

✧ At least five years of professional experience.

✧ A demonstrated interest in collaboration with a local partner

✧ Alignment with the residency’s goals of fostering artistic exchange.

To be eligible, artists have to be based in Riga or Latvia.
